Will Jews and Christians Go To Hell
Will Jews and Christians Go To Hell

Contrary to the pronouncements of the Muslims, there is no prescription in the Quran about whether Jews or Christians who still stick to their creed after the revelation of the Quran, will go to hell or not be admitted to paradise.

"Surely those who believe; and those who are Jewish, and the Christians, and the Sabians, whoever whom believes in God and the Last Day and does good works; they will have their reward with their Lord, and there is no fear upon them, nor will they grieve." (Qur'an 2:62)

The fact that the Qur'an permits marriage to Jews or Christians shows how the mentality that condemns them to hell contradicts the Quran. It is to be noted that, similar to the Muslims, not all Jews and Christians have strayed, there are many that are "upright" as God tells us:

"They are not all the same, from the people of the Book are a nation that is upright; they recite the revelations of God during the night hours..." (Qur'an 3:113)

Furthermore, similar to the assumptions made by Muslims that only they will enter heaven, many Jews and Christians also believe that you must subscribe to their "religion" in order to achieve God's blessings in the afterlife. Yet, according to the Qur'an, we are told that you do not have to subscribe to any religion (whether it be Islam, Judaism, or Christianity) in order to enter heaven in the afterlife:

And they say, "None will enter Heaven unless he is a Jew or a Christian." These are their wishes. Say, "Produce your proof, if you are truthful." (Qur'an 2:111)

The Jews say, "The Christians are not based on anything;" and the Christians say, "The Jews are not based on anything." Yet they both read the Scripture. Similarly, the ignorant said the same thing. God will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection regarding their differences. (Qur'an 2:113)

We sent down the Torah wherein is guidance and light. The prophets who submitted judged thereby those who hold to Judaism as did the rabbis and the religious scholars with what they were given charge of the Writ of God and were thereto witnesses: “So fear not mankind but fear Me; and sell not My proofs at a cheap price.” And whoso judges not by what God has sent down, it is they who are the false claimers of guidance. (Qur'an 5:44)

THE QURAN CALLS ON JEWS TO FOLLOW THE TORAH ALONE AND TO KEEP THE SABBATH

Say thou: “Bring the Torah and recite it, if you be truthful.” (Qur'an 3:93)

And how come they to thee for judgment when they have the Torah wherein is the judgment of God, then turn away after that? And those are not believers. (Qur'an 5:43)

We sent down the Torah wherein is guidance and light. (Qur'an 5:44) "

And had they upheld the Torah and the Gospel and what was sent down to them from their Lord, they would have eaten from above them and from under their feet. (Qur'an 5:66)

The likeness of those given to bear the Torah then have borne it not, is as the likeness of a donkey bearing books: evil is the example of the people who deny the proofs of God. And God guides not the wrongdoing people. (Qur'an 62:5)

And We raised above them the mount for their agreement; and We said to them: “Enter the gate in submission”; and We said to them: “Transgress not the Sabbath”; and We took from them a stern agreement. (Qur'an 4:154)

And ask thou them about the town that was by the sea, when they transgressed the Sabbath, when their fish came to them openly on the day of their Sabbath. But on the day they had no Sabbath, they came not to them. Thus did We try them, because they were perfidious. (Qur'an 7:163)

The Sabbath was only appointed for those who differed concerning it; and thy Lord will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection concerning that wherein they differed. (Qur'an 16:124)
